The question should be more precise. Closest country to earth from where ???

Are you looking from space or from earth core!!!

The country that is the closest to the centre of the earth is on some (really really low) islands, it’s called the Maldives.

They are really worried there about the sea levels rising (ask your teacher why that might happen!), and being swallowed up under the waves.

Jamaica is pretty low too. And Holland (or the Netherlands) is very low as well.

That’s a very interesting question… as it is not too specific and it can be interpreted in different ways. As “earth” is not written with a capital “E”, I guess you accept I consider the agriculture aspect.

There a lot countries in Africa where agriculture and farming are the main source of economy (there richness come from what they produce); and this can be due to the fact they do not have petrol, coal or natural gas sources.

You should definitely look up rising sea levels like Ricardo mentioned 🙂

      Good thoughts there.
We’re not sure if there are countries close to the earth because we cannot be sure if there is other life out there. But I love the film ET (have you watched?) and I do hope that ET got home to his home country 🙂

If you are talking about planets, funny enough it changes depending on the time of the year (you can ask your friends this Q)

When Venus is in the middle of the Sun and Earth, it is at its closest point to Earth. During this period, Venus would be the closest planet to Earth. However, there are times when Mars is actually the closest planet 🙂
