      Photosynthesis is how plants make their own food. It is the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesise nutrients from carbon dioxide and water. Photosynthesis in plants generally involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen as a by-product.

      Photosynthesis may sound like a big word, but it’s actually pretty simple. You can divide it into two parts: “Photo” is the Greek word for “Light,” and “synthesis,” is the Greek word for “putting together,” which explains what photosynthesis is.
      It is using light to put things together. You know that all animals and humans eat food, but plants don’t eat anything.
      Photosynthesis is how plants eat.
      They use photosynthesis to make their own food.
      Since plants don’t have to move around to find food, plants stay in one place, since they can make their food anywhere as long as they have three things.
      The three things are Carbon Dioxide, Water, and Light.

      Photosynthesis is a process in which green plants convert light energy into chemical energy. Light is usually obtained from sun. Produced chemical energy is further used to fuel the activities of the plant. In simple plans use photosynthesis to prepare their own food. And ingredients are Carbon-di-Oxide, Sun light and Water.

      Great question, and the others have told you what it is.

      This is a big molecule, with a single atom of Magnesium (a metal) at the end. When light hits it, it’s able to capture that energy. How it does it is very complicated, but scientists working on Biochemistry have managed to work it all out in lots of years of amazing work.

      Maybe some day they will be able to make artificial photosynthesis, so that your phone will be green, and use sunlight for power!
