      Hi Great Q:)
If there is something wrong that I cannot figure out, I might ask someone else like another scientist either in my hospital or somewhere else in Ireland or maybe from another country. I know lots of really good scientists.
I might also look up a journal article on it- maybe somebody has written about it and I might find it through PubMed. PubMed is like the Google for Scientists and doctors

Sometimes we have situations where we don’t know the answer to a problem.

The first step to solving the problem is to think about the reasons/scenarios that might be possible first and start ruling them out by performing experiments.

You can also research what other scientists in the same situation have done in the past and see what has worked for them.

It is unusual to find that you are the only person that has ever had the problem and if it turns out that you are well then you have discovered something new!
