That’s a tricky one.. I guess the only answer I have to that question is that it depends on what is making the person sick.

I think we still have a lot to learn about the human body, our immune system and the diseases humans can suffer from. I’d like to think with enough research that we will find more treatments and hopefully some cures for more diseases in the future.

      Hello,

that is a very good and important question when we hear in the news so many sicknesses affecting a lot of people. Of course, you are right in asking the questions.

A sickness does not come alone, there needs some event: it can be due to, for example, a lot of humidity, tiredness, smoking, alcohol, exposure to sunlight, allergies… If we know the source of the sickness, we can certainly look for and find the a way to cure!
A lot of research has been done of various sickness and a lot is discovered each month; a lot of progress has been done.
Some sicknesses are very difficult to cure, however I do believe there should be a cure for all the sicknesses.

      Regards.
      Pierre.

That is a very great question.
Yes, I would like to think so. We have to believe that we can treat diseases, maybe not cure fully but definitely able to treat them and make the person feel better.
As a scientist we work everyday to try to find cures. Overtime there is a new disease discovered we want to be able to fight the battle to cure the disease

I hope so, but I know some cures are easier to find than others.

The sicknesses where there is just one thing that causes it are the first to have cures found – usually.

But lots of the most common sicknesses have lots of things that cause them. For example, diabetes might be caused by lack of exercise, or by bad diet over a long time, being overweight, drinking a lot of alcohol, there are a lot of different genes that can increase your risk as well, and as you get older your risk of getting it goes up. Studies of a lot of patients have shown that those things can cause the disease.

But that doesn’t tell you what might be the cause in any one patient. And it’s a lot of different things to try and fix them all at once. Some of them can’t be fixed if the patient doesn’t want to exercise, or start eating more healthily.

Cures for that type of disease are very difficult to get right.
